LOCAL MUSIC FINDERS

Back to Work (for Musicians!)

There’s a full schedule of Live Music today, and all of your favorite bands are back to work!

Double Roads in Jupiter has two bands as usual – Sour Mash at dinnertime, and Big Vince and the Phat Cats later.  It’s their Christmas Party, and you’re invited!  PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens is starting up again with their national acts with Ronnie Laws Jazz and R&B tonight for $50 to $70.  New Orleans’s Damien Louviere is back in town at the Brewhouse Gallery in Lake Park.

Copper Blues in West Palm Beach has The Kinected back again, and in Lake Worth it’s Reggae Night at the Bamboo Room with Spred the Dub and 2 other Reggae bands.  Wellington has the Rob Arenth Experience at Backstreets.

Delray has Big Medicine jammin’ at Boston’s and County Line Road at the Bull Bar.  Down in Boca the big event is a whole lotta’ Blues at the Funky Biscuit with Butch Trucks, Damon Fowler, Ben Sparaco, Bruce Katz, Valor Trucks, and Berry Oakley, Jr. and more for $30 (call first – will probably sell out).

Christmas Live Music in South County!

The forecast for Christmas Eve in South County is warm and slim pickins for Live Music!  The Dubliner in Boca will be open with the Reggae Souljahs jammin’ until after midnite.  Delray has Riverdown scheduled for their regular Thursday at Johnnie Brown’s, the Atlantic Blues Band at their regular Atlantic Grille gig, Adam Fine at the Bull Bar, and of course Kevro’s open jam with Max DuBose.

Christmas Day will be a little busier, with Country music by County Line Road at Boston’s and the Nash Carey Band at the Bull Bar.  Josh Miles at the Dubliner is another good choice.

What about street musicians?

Ever wonder how much people playing music on the street pull in?

From our viewpoint, most local musicians are very much underpaid for what they contribute.  This time of year we tip the newspaper guy, our hair stylists, etc. so don’t be shy about dropping something extra into that tip jar!
